Pacific Domes Cost: What Sets the Price, and How a Clear Rigid Dome Compares

Pacific Domes does not publish a base price for its domes; buyers request an estimate. What it does publish is the construction: a galvanised steel geodesic frame with an architectural fabric cover, in sizes from 16 ft (5 m) to 120 ft. A Domevora dome is a different product: a clear, frameless solid-polycarbonate shell with a published EX-WORKS price for every model, from US$1,094. The 16 ft and 20 ft Pacific Domes are close in floor area to our Round 5.0 m (US$2,167–2,847) and Round 6.0 m (US$2,682–3,466).

Short answer

Why there is no list price to compare.

A fabric geodesic dome is configured before it is priced. Diameter, frame tubing, the cover, windows and doors, insulation and the deck all move the number, so Pacific Domes quotes each order. To compare it with anything else, ask for a written estimate that lists the same items: structure, cover, openings, delivery and the platform.

Domevora publishes a price for each of its eleven models on the model page, from shell only to fully configured. Freight, duties, the base and installation are extra, and the 2026 price guide sets out what sits outside the price.

Pacific Domes states wind loads of 100–150 mph and snow loads of 15–85 psf across its range, US manufacture and US-only financing over 12–60 months. Domevora shells are rated to wind level 14, with installed performance depending on anchoring and foundation; design snow load is confirmed for each site.

Which to choose

They answer different briefs.

A fabric geodesic dome fits if…

  • you need a large span: Pacific Domes go up to 120 ft, far beyond our largest model;
  • you want an enclosed room with windows rather than a fully transparent one;
  • you are building a dome home, studio or event space;
  • US manufacture or US financing matters to the project.

A clear rigid dome fits if…

  • the view of the sky is what guests pay for: stargazing rooms, dining domes, garden igloos;
  • you want to budget from a published price before you talk to anyone;
  • the unit is 2.1 m to 6.0 m round, or an oval up to 3.5 × 7.5 m;
  • you want no fabric to replace and a 7-year polycarbonate material warranty.

Whichever you price, compare…

  • the same floor area and the same openings;
  • delivery, duty and tax to your site;
  • the platform or deck, which neither price includes;
  • heating, cooling and ventilation for the months you plan to open.

Questions buyers ask us

How much does a Pacific Dome cost?

Pacific Domes does not list base prices on its website; it prices each dome by estimate, depending on size and options. For a Domevora dome of similar floor area, the Round 5.0 m costs US$2,167–2,847 and the Round 6.0 m US$2,682–3,466 EX-WORKS, before freight, duty and the base.

Is a Pacific Dome the same as a Domevora dome?

No. A Pacific Dome is a galvanised steel geodesic frame with a fabric cover and windows. A Domevora dome has no frame: it is a clear shell of solid polycarbonate panels bolted to an aluminium base ring.

Which is better for a glamping site?

It depends on what guests are booking. For an enclosed tent-style room with windows, a fabric dome fits. For sleeping or dining under an open sky, a clear shell fits. See glamping domes for sale for our sizes and site planning.

Does Domevora make large event domes?

No. Our largest round model is 6.0 m and our longest oval is 3.5 × 7.5 m. For larger spans, a frame-and-fabric dome is the right construction.
