Domevora dome maintenance: cleaning and inspection

Maintenance & spare parts

Dome Maintenance, Spare Parts & the 10-Year Warranty

What keeps a Domevora dome clear and serviceable over its life: a realistic maintenance schedule, how replacement panels work, and what the 10-year optical warranty actually covers.

The long view

Plan for year five, not just opening day.

The shell is modular and the panels are replaceable. The 10-year warranty covers optical performance under stated conditions: under 6% light-transmission loss (ASTM D1003) and a yellowing index under 10 (ASTM D1925), in normal outdoor use. Expected service life with normal maintenance is 15 years or more.

Seals, gaskets, curtain fabric, LED strips, motors and moving hardware carry their own component terms — ordinary wear is expected and planned.

Maintenance schedule

1/3/6/12-month rhythm, plus the long intervals.

Interval Check
Monthly Cleaning, drainage and vent operation
Quarterly Seals, gaskets and fasteners
6 months Moving parts: vents, exhaust, hardware
Annual Anchoring, base, corrosion and drainage review
3–5 years Seal and gasket replacement inspection
10 years Optical and structural review

Schedules are based on normal outdoor use. Commercial use and harsh climates may require more frequent checks; adapt the schedule to the site.

Cleaning & care

Keep the warranty valid.

Wash

Clean water, mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive pads and incompatible solvents.

Inspect

Check seals, fasteners, drainage and moving hardware on a schedule appropriate to the climate and commercial use.

Record

Keep the packing list and order records — they identify the exact component for replacement.

Spare parts

Replacement panels, identified by part number.

The shell is modular: a single panel can be replaced without the whole dome. Identify the affected component with the part number from the packing list, dated photographs and order reference — then contact us for review and replacement coordination.

Replacement feasibility depends on the model, component and installation; the review is confirmed in writing.

Questions buyers ask us

How long will the dome last?

Expected service life with normal use and maintenance is 15 years or more for the polycarbonate shell. The 10-year figure is the warranty term, not the service life.

Can a damaged panel be replaced?

Yes — the shell is modular and a single panel is replaceable without the whole dome. Send the part number from the packing list, dated photos and order reference for review.

What voids the warranty?

Incorrect foundation, anchoring or assembly; misuse or unauthorised modification; inadequate maintenance; site events beyond the agreed design basis; and ordinary wear of service items. Freight damage is handled as a shipment claim.

Do you sell spare parts separately?

Spare parts and replacement panels are identified from the packing list and order records, then produced or dispatched against the model configuration.

Next decision

Ask for the care sheet with your order.

Every dome ships with a care sheet; existing owners can request the maintenance manual and spare gasket kits.
